Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for an IT Project Manager, W-2 contract opportunity.
This is a W-2 contract opportunity, and candidates must be able to work on our W-2 only. NO C2C or 1099.
IT Project Manager
Locations: Charlotte, NC
Type: W-2 Contract (NO C2C)
Schedule: Hybrid- 3 days in office
Schedule: Hybrid- 4- 10 hour days in office- start time of 7 a.m.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on Scrum Master experience.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM or equivalent).
- Experience facilitating meetings, managing stakeholders, and driving delivery outcomes.
Position Summary
This role is a hybrid position responsible for managing multiple projects while also leading Agile delivery practices and Scrum ceremonies. This position is best suited for a pragmatic, delivery-focused professional who can balance structured project management rigor with adaptable Agile practices in complex, cross-functional environments.
Key Capabilities (Most Important)
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex business and leadership relationships (individual contributors through executive leadership).
* Experience managing project budgets, including estimating, forecasting, and resource planning.
* Ability to lead Agile teams without being overly prescriptive adapts Scrum practices to meet business needs
* Demonstrated experience bridging traditional project management and Agile delivery methodologies.
* Strong facilitation skills for meetings, Scrum ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration.
Core Responsibilities
Project Management
* Oversee project scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
* Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities.
* Develop and maintain project schedules and cost controls.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and leadership.
* Provide status reporting and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
* Manage project budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.
Agile / Scrum Leadership
* Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams.
* Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including:
Sprint Planning
Daily Stand-ups
Sprint Reviews/Demos
Retrospectives
* Support backlog management in partnership with Product Owners.
* Track and manage risks, dependencies, and impediments through resolution.
* Capture and analyze team metrics (velocity, burndown, team health).
* Maintain Scrum artifacts and ensure overall process quality.
* Promote continuous improvement through retrospective actions.
Team Enablement & Delivery Support
* Ensure teams are productive, focused, and protected from unnecessary external disruption.
* Provide servant leadership while driving accountability and performance.
* Mentor team members and promote Agile best practices.
* Bridge communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
* Support vendor and external partner coordination where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
* PMP or CAPM certification.
* Utility industry experience
* Knowledge of scheduling and cost control tools.
* Experience working with vendors and external partners.
