Summary

This role supports the XR Calibration function. In this role, you will provide Hardware Test Engineering services focusing on testing the physical behavior of prototype devices and their sensors for first principles functionality, calibration, and verification. The work involves utilizing manual and automated test stations along with physical AI evaluation platforms to support the creation and refinement of physics-based representations of devices, as well as assisting in root-cause problem solving. The resource will collaborate with hardware and software engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve device issues from early prototype to mass production.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute tests to measure the physical response of device sensor and display systems.
Characterize measurement error, accuracy, and robustness.
Analyze data to assess validity, and cross-validate via supplemental testing where appropriate.
Provide clear, end-to-end documentation of initial test development, execution, data analysis, and result outcomes.
Collaborate with simulation, calibration, and hardware teams to ensure test relevance and reliability to deliver high-quality data.
Develop tools, fixtures, and methodologies to characterize physics-based responses across optics, acoustics, dynamics, and electronics.
Utilize first-principles technical analysis to interrogate results for first-pass validity.

Required Experience & Skills:
BS degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Proven experience with physics-based testing and data analysis.
Hands-on experience with hardware testing and high attention to detail in technical execution and documentation.

Preferred Experience & Skills:
Strong background in acoustics and audio engineering.
Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and integration.
Prior experience with physical test design and implementation.
A track record of executing high-quality, reliable measurements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
