Field Applications Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Applications Engineer will oversee field quality for Premier PV's electrical BOS components ensuring that field issues are quickly addressed and lessons learned are fed back to the design and manufacturing teams. This role will collaborate cross-functionally on all quality processes to include work instructions, customer satisfaction, quality complaints, non-conforming products and key metrics. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute across field and factory to ensure field issues are quickly resolved.
  • Handle requests for information, warranty claims & RMA processing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Legal teams to refine warranty policies and streamline claims resolution.
  • Use warranty data to identify systemic product issues and drive improvements in product design and documentation.
  • Create work instructions, organize field replacements and work with onsite teams to perform corrective actions in the field.
  • Direct efforts to collect, analyze, and act on product performance data from the field.
  • Identify patterns in failures, performance issues, or service needs to improve overall system reliability .
  • Establish and monitor KPIs including CSAT, NPS, FRT, and resolution efficiency.
  • Present regular performance dashboards and service trend reports to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, and/or engineering industries.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and their components (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for quality-related tasks (up to 50%).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, management, and internal teams
