Cloud Security Specialist (API)

Position Title: Senior Cloud Security Specialist (API Integrations)

Position Overview - We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Specialist with strong expertise in REST API integrations and cloud security engineering. This role will design, build, and secure API-based integrations across cloud platforms, ensuring resilient, scalable, and compliant data exchange. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with secure integration patterns, automation, and cloud-native architectures, while providing technical leadership across engineering and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

·        Design and document API integrations and data mappings across cloud systems.

·        Build secure, resilient API integrations with proper error handling, retries, and monitoring.

·        Develop automation using serverless functions, scripts, and event-driven workflows.

·        Implement security controls and support DLP and CASB initiatives.

·        Perform testing, monitoring, and documentation of integrations.

·        Create and maintain security standards, playbooks, and configuration guides.

·        Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on secure implementations.

·        Collaborate across teams to support secure design, build, and operations.

Requirements

·        Strong experience with REST API design, integration, security, and documentation.

·        Knowledge of resilient integration patterns (error handling, retries, monitoring).

·        Experience with scripting, automation, and cloud-native architectures.

·        Knowledge of API security, IAM, network security, and DevSecOps practices.

·        Experience implementing cloud security controls and working in regulated environments (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).

·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

·        AWS Certified Security – Specialty

·        AWS Certified Solutions Architect

·        Experience with ServiceNow, Collibra, Saviynt integrations

·        Experience with serverless, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code

·        Familiarity with CASB, DLP, and Zero Trust concepts
