Title: Senior Process Engineering Manager
Duration: 10 Months
Location: Newton, NC
Note: Could work some at Hickory, NC plant as well - the two plants are 5 miles apart
Work Schedule: Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support project schedule.
Only W2 candidates are eligible for this position. Third-party or C2C candidates will not be considered.

Position will be based in Trivium, NC, and travel to other local plants possible.
Description:
Scope of Position:
A senior hands-on process project engineering leader responsible for leading a diverse team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) in the start-up and qualification of multiple fiber optic cable production lines
Develop and execute project timeline that meets customer requirements
Interface with plant and division leadership in the coordination of team activities
Ensure focus on safety by all team members and supporting contractors
Requirements:
Experience with high-speed optical fiber cable manufacturing equipment is a plus (jacketing, ribbon stranding, buffering)
Effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
Creative/innovative problem solving.
Experience in successfully leading and completing projects in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent Analytical Skills - Decision-making based on data.
Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others.
Strong data analysis, interpretation, visualization, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, gender, culture, race, etc.)
Capable of multitasking
Demonstrated technical expertise in process improvement
Key Responsibilities:
Lead team in the execution of equipment start-up to include setting up test equipment, collecting data, and adjusting equipment set points and parameters.
Providing feedback and suggestions to improve equipment and product quality
Champions manufacturing process improvements, variability reduction, defect reduction, process control, throughput improvements and 6-Sigma initiatives.
Facilitates problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and resolution.
Applies knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.
Demonstrates personal use of engineering tools and methodologies such as 6-Sigma, TRIZ, KT-PA, MEE, etc. to understand and address root causes of production issues.
Lead and/or facilitate the development of standard work documentation to include SOPs, SOS, Job Aids and Training Documentation.
Ensures safe work practices.
Education: BS in chemical, mechanical, materials, industrial engineering.
Minimum Experience: 7+ Years experience as project manager or team leader for process engineering teams in a manufacturing plant
Immigration Status: Must be eligible to work in the US for a minimum of 18 months
Interview Process: Interviews will be held via Teams with 2 or 3 engineering leaders. For local candidates selected, an on-site interview may be requested before finalizing decision.
