Summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Enterprise IT Support Specialist with a Secret Security clearance to support KITS and our government customer in Huntsville, AL. This is an onsite position.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise in system maintenance, security compliance, and risk management. This position requires the ability to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to military cybersecurity standards and policies.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Enterprise IT Support Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness and compliance of special sites. This role combines hands-on technical support with proactive security monitoring and risk mitigation. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of IT systems across multiple special sites to ensure continuous operational availability
  • Execute system patching, upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with approved change management processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize service disruptions
  • Proactively identify and assess cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and potential performance degradation
  • Implement corrective actions to address identified security gaps and maintain compliance with Army cybersecurity policies and DoD standards
  • Monitor system logs and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents
  • Document all maintenance activities, configuration changes, and security incidents
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to plan and execute system changes during approved maintenance windows
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF, NIST, and DoD STIGs
  • Prepare and submit required compliance documentation and status reports
  • Participate in assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring activities

Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or cybersecurity
  • 3+ years of experience working with DoD IT systems and security requirements
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAM Level I certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent)
  • Experience with RMF (Risk Management Framework) processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Active Secret security clearance

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, including DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53 controls, and Army regulations
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration and security hardening
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS/Nessus) and remediation processes
  • Knowledge of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
  • Ability to perform system patching and configuration management using enterprise tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis for security and performance issues
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail for compliance reporting
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in remote or austere locations
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours or respond to emergency situations as needed
