Position: Business System Analyst – Payments
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business System Analyst (BSA) with strong expertise in payments technology to analyze business requirements, support system design, and deliver payment solutions across ACH, Wire, SWIFT, and Fed platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams while supporting ISO 20022 migration and payment modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements for payment applications.
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into functional and technical specifications for development teams.
• Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, vendors, and external payment networks.
• Support end-to-end payment processing including ACH, Wire Transfers, SWIFT, Fedwire, and FedNow.
• Work on ISO 20022 migration projects for SWIFT and Federal Reserve payment systems.
• Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and root cause analysis for system changes and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain BRD, FRD, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
• Collaborate with architects and developers on solution design and system configurations.
• Support UAT planning and execution, including test case review and defect triage.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and security requirements (AML, KYC, OFAC).
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Assist in production support, issue resolution, and post-implementation reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Business System Analyst / Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
• Strong experience with payments systems (ACH, Wire, SWIFT, Fed).
• Excellent understanding of ISO 20022 standards and message formats (MX).
• Hands-on experience supporting ISO 20022 migration initiatives.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Ability to work with cross-functional and global teams.
