Position Title: Senior Finance & Accounting Specialist
Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid – 3 Days Office)
Duration: Fulltime

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Senior Finance & Accounting Specialist to support financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with business leaders to deliver insights, improve financial processes, and drive performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial reports for management and key stakeholders
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights on financial performance
• Support monthly, quarterly, and periodic reporting cycles, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
• Respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes across business units
• Develop forward-looking financial models, including annual budgets and multi-year forecasts
• Collaborate with project and business owners to ensure accurate cost planning
• Contribute to long-term financial planning, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections

Business Partnering & Strategy Support

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and finance leadership
• Analyze key performance indicators and identify risks and opportunities
• Translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations
• Support strategic initiatives with data-driven financial analysis

Systems, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Leverage financial systems (e.g., ERP tools, reporting platforms, Power BI) to generate insights
• Drive improvements in financial reporting, forecasting, and data processes
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in finance operations
• Support finance-related projects and system enhancements

Governance & Compliance

• Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with company policies and financial controls
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A roles
• Experience working in complex or global organizations is an advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Power Pivot); experience with BI tools is a plus
• Ability to build financial models and interpret large datasets
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage ambiguous or complex tasks
• Business acumen with a proactive, strategic mindset
• Collaborative team player with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
