QA - ETL Consultant
New York, NY (Hybrid: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote)

Job Description:
This is a manual QA tester with very strong ETL testing skills and SQL skills. Excellent communications too. We are looking for someone currently with this skill set.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA - ETL Consultant to join our team in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing functional, regression, and system end-to-end testing, ensuring high-quality data integration. You will work within a fast-paced Scrum environment, contributing to test planning, execution, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive Test Plans and Test Strategy documents.

Test Execution: Create and execute test cases for functional, regression, and system end-to-end testing.

Defect Management: Identify, report, and track issues using Jira, ensuring appropriate escalation when necessary.

Reporting: Generate daily test execution reports throughout the testing phase.

Collaboration: Participate actively in Scrum meetings and engage directly with stakeholders in user meetings.

Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for test scenarios and outcomes.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
-
6+ years in testing methodology and techniques.
-
3+ years of hands-on experience specifically in ETL testing.

5+ years of experience working with SQL (MySQL, Oracle SQL, or equivalent relational databases).

Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Technical Proficiency:
-
Solid understanding of testing principles (including negative testing).

Proven ability to formulate and execute detailed test plans and test cases.

Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail).

Methodology: Strong understanding of the Scrum framework (sprints, stories, velocity).

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical, follow-up, and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Prior experience working in a Unix environment.
