Description

AVER is seeking a Power BI / SQL Developer to support healthcare data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions. This role combines hands-on Power BI development with strong SQL data analysis and reporting capabilities. The Developer will design and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards, develop semantic data models, write complex SQL queries and scripts, and analyze healthcare data from multiple sources to support operational, clinical, and management decision-making. Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics and Reporting, this individual will work with internal and external datasets to develop reliable, user-friendly BI solutions that improve visibility into key performance metrics, quality outcomes, and healthcare operations. Responsibilities Include:
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations supporting healthcare operations, quality, and performance reporting
  • Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, including data relationships, business logic, measures, and reporting structures
  • Translate business and reporting requirements into intuitive dashboards, KPIs, reports, and analytical solutions
  • Write and optimize complex SQL and Oracle PL/SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, analysis, validation, and reporting
  • Extract, cleanse, transform, integrate, and validate data from multiple healthcare and operational data sources
  • Develop and execute data mining and analytical queries against relational databases and enterprise data warehouse environments
  • Create and maintain standardized reports while supporting the modernization and rebuilding of legacy reports in Power BI
  • Enhance and troubleshoot existing SQL scripts, Power BI reports, and SSRS reports based on evolving business and end-user requirements
  • Analyze healthcare datasets including medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility, authorization, clinical/EHR, pharmacy, and operational data
  • Develop KPI and performance dashboards that provide actionable insights to clinical, operational, and management stakeholders
  • Validate data and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and data integrity
  • Manage file loads, data transfers, and integration of external datasets used for contract and operational reporting
  • Familiarity with using GitHub or other version control systems for source code management and collaborative development
  • Maintain a strong understanding of data warehouse structures, database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and upstream/downstream reporting dependencies
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions
  • Support time-sensitive contract deliverables, recurring reporting requirements, and ad hoc analytical requests
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, forward leaning and forward thinking
  • Assertive and proactive communication to provide status updates, ask questions, and employ an iterative/ consultative approach that informs team, customers and stakeholders

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related data-centric field

Experience Requirements:
  • 3-4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related data-focused role
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Experience developing and working with Power BI semantic models, data relationships, measures, and reporting logic
  • Strong experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, analysis, query development, and report creation
  • Experience developing Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL queries and scripts
  • Experience working with relational databases and enterprise data warehouse environments
  • Experience extracting, cleansing, transforming, validating, and integrating data from multiple sources
  • Experience developing KPI dashboards, standardized reports, and data visualizations for business and operational users
  • Experience troubleshooting and enhancing existing SQL scripts and Power BI reporting solutions.
  • Understanding of data quality, data integrity, database design, data definitions, and reporting dependencies
  • Ability to translate business requirements and complex datasets into clear, actionable reporting and visualizations

Desired Requirements:
  • Experience developing DAX measures and expressions within Power BI
  • Experience with Power Query and data transformation within Power BI
  • Experience developing or maintaining SSRS reports
  • Experience modernizing or rebuilding legacy reports in Power BI
  • Experience with SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) for ad hoc reporting and report development
  • Experience working with healthcare data, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility, authorization, EHR/clinical, or pharmacy data
  • Experience supporting behavioral health, population health, healthcare quality, or HEDIS-related reporting
  • Experience integrating and reconciling data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Experience with Python, R, Alteryx, or similar data analysis/transformation tools is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate across functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive reporting deliverables in a fast-paced environment
