JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise System Administrator III to join our infrastructure team and support a large-scale, hybrid enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, automation, and multi-cloud operations, along with a passion for reliability, security, and continuous improvement. H-1B visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

**Active Directory & Identity Services**
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, OU structure, delegation, gMSAs, and security best practices.

**Windows Server Engineering**
- Own the full Windows Server lifecycle: build, standardize, upgrade, and decommission systems.
- Lead server patching efforts using MECM/SCCM, including planning, deployment, coordination, and remediation.

**Monitoring, Performance & Automation**
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using SCOM and automation tools.
- Develop PowerShell automation to enforce standards and reduce manual operational work.

**Hybrid & Multi-Cloud Support**
- Support on-premises and hybrid Windows workloads across VMware, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.

**Networking, DNS & Backup Operations**
- Provide DNS administration and recovery operations; experience with EfficientIP and Rubrik is preferred.
- Troubleshoot and remediate Windows security controls, including firewall configuration, antivirus (Sophos preferred), and OS hardening.

**M365 & Endpoint Integration**
- Support Microsoft 365 services relevant to Windows platforms, including OneDrive integration.

**Documentation & Team Collaboration**
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education
    Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent.
  • Experience
    5 years of job-related experience
    3 years of experience in a support position or role in an information systems environment.
    Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

JOB DUTIES
  • Analyzes and remediates problems involving operating systems, database systems, applications, and other technologies.
  • Troubleshoots system components and recommends improvements in support of an efficient, highly available data center operation.
  • Designs and implements data system components under the direction of Managers and other levels of Systems Engineers.
  • Works to identify and propose innovative and creative solutions that enhance or increase the efficiency of the services provided by Information Resources to the campus community.
  • Develops and reviews specifications for data system components and services.
  • Assists in the development of test plans and documentation of recovery procedures.
  • Assists with the development of guidelines related to the installation of Operating Systems, Database software and other application systems.
  • Support for Call Center (HEAT) incidents.
  • Identifies and analyzes that impact of system security vulnerabilities in relation to the enterprise environment.
  • Assists with responses to security incidents to prevent additional loss and obtains and preserves forensic evidence.
  • Remains knowledgeable of changes in technology, industry practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements including FISMA, NIST FIPS, and other relevant publications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
