Network Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, administration, and support of complex enterprise network environments. This role will take a lead position in network and voice infrastructure, network security, disaster recovery planning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, upgrades, and ongoing network operations.

The ideal candidate brings advanced networking expertise, strong Cisco experience, and hands-on experience supporting large, high-availability environments with numerous remote locations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot complex enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Lead network and voice architecture, configuration, administration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
  • Support IP-based services including voice, video, telephony, and data.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, network security appliances, and related infrastructure.
  • Support Cisco Viptela-based SD-WAN environments, including development of feature and device templates.
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain network connectivity across hundreds of remote sites.
  • Support network security, Internet connectivity, host access, SIP phones, and voice networks.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, backup services, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Provide technical leadership for network-related projects, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Support infrastructure services including storage management, file and print services, network management systems, and related technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience planning, designing, installing, and maintaining complete network infrastructure within a centralized, high-availability IT environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a technical lead capacity.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Viptela-based SD-WAN, including:
    • Feature and device template development
    • Deployment and configuration
    • Monitoring and maintenance
    • Support of large-scale remote-site environments
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience within a service-provider network environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP and networking protocols
    • Routers and switches
    • Firewalls and network security
    • Wireless networking
    • Network monitoring and management tools
    • LAN/WAN infrastructure
    • Network topology and cabling infrastructure
    • Voice networks and SIP phones
    • Backup and disaster recovery
    • Server and network infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Additional qualifying professional experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior networking professional who has supported large-scale, high-availability network environments and can independently lead complex network initiatives. Strong experience with Cisco Viptela SD-WAN, enterprise networking, service-provider environments, network security, and distributed remote-site infrastructure is especially important.
