Summary

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tableau Architect to improve the performance, governance, and overall management of the Tableau platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Tableau Server administration, dashboard performance optimization, and Tableau platform governance.

This role will focus on optimizing existing dashboards, implementing Tableau Advanced Management features, improving deployment processes, and establishing best practices for managing Tableau Server.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Performance Optimization

Analyze and optimize high-usage Tableau dashboards that are currently experiencing slow performance.
Perform performance improvements including:

Data source optimization
Query performance tuning
Calculation optimization
Data model improvements

Identify and fix root causes of performance issues instead of relying only on extract conversions.

Tableau Advanced Management

Review the organization’s Tableau Advanced Management capabilities.
Implement and configure useful features such as:

Resource Monitoring
Operational management tools
Content management capabilities

Provide recommendations and best practices to improve Tableau platform management.

Deployment Automation

Design and implement a deployment process to move Tableau workbooks from test environments to production.
Use tools such as Tableau Content Migration Tool to support automated deployments.
Create a repeatable and reliable process for future releases.

Tableau Server Content Management

Identify unused or outdated content in Tableau Server.
Develop processes to:

Detect inactive dashboards and data sources
Notify content owners
Remove obsolete content

Help optimize server performance and storage usage.

User Access & Governance

Review the current user access and provisioning model.
Recommend improvements in:

Role-based access control
User group management
Onboarding and offboarding processes
Security and governance policies.

Data Source Optimization

Identify dashboards that use embedded data sources.
Recommend migrating to published data sources to improve performance, governance, and data reuse.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

Document the changes made to improve performance and platform management.
Provide knowledge transfer sessions to help internal teams maintain the system and follow best practices.

Required Skills

Strong experience with Tableau Server Administration
Experience in Tableau dashboard performance optimization
Hands-on experience with Tableau Advanced Management
Experience using Tableau Content Migration Tool
Strong understanding of Tableau governance and access management
Experience working with published data sources
Ability to troubleshoot data source and query performance issues

Preferred Skills

Experience working in large enterprise Tableau environments
Strong knowledge of BI architecture and data modeling
