SAFe Product Owner to work in our
Fairfax, VA office.
Everforth ECS is seeking talented professionals to join our successful and growing team in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency 's (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating , and maintaining a complete 'Data Services' solution which includes the collection, normalization , visualization , and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies . The CDM Data Services product is a n integrated suite of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products , software configuration packages , and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet D epartment of Homeland Security (DHS) requirements.

Role & Responsibilities: The SAFe P roduct Owner plays a critical role in driving product development , collaborating closely with business stakeholders and the Agile team to define and prioritize user stories that deliver customer and business value . The Product Owner translates Agile Release Train (ART) goals into actionable backlog items, ensures alignment and manages dependencies with other ART teams , and acts as the voice of the customer throughout the development lifecycle .
The SAFe Product Owner will tactically manage 1 Agile delivery team . The Product Owner will create and curate the product backlog based on user needs, stakeholder priorities, and technical feasibility. They will use SAFe Agile best practices to ensure the team delivers high-quality working software . The Product Owner will act as the "face" of the team and serve as the primary point of integration among the delivery team, stakeholders, vendors, and other teams in the organization. They will remain aware of industry trends in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and processes associated with a robust, reliable, and mature service offering. These responsibilities all contribute to a secure and high-performance cybersecurity platform.
Required Skills - At least 5 years' experience managing similar technical products and services , with a preference for Agile development environment s . This experience must include holding teams accountable for meeting both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., scalability, predictability, performance, maintainability, usability, security)
- At least 5 years' experience managing complex product requirements in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment , including vendor and prime/sub partner engagements
- Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
- Superior leadership, project management, customer service , and interpersonal skills
- Industry-accepted Agile certification: Product Owner , Product Manager, Scrum Master , or similar . Hands-on experience delivering in agile environments
- Familiarity with core cybersecurity concepts, risk considerations, and secure development practices.
Desired Skills - Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification or an industry equivalent
- Experience working with products deployed to cloud-hosted environments, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience directing, triaging, and prioritizing work for teams utilizing Kanban methodology
- Experience coordinating and aligning work across dynamic intake streams
- Experience or certifications related to Cybersecurity and/or Cybersecurity software development
- Familiarity with Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM) tools and software
- Experience delivering software for Federal Government customers
- Excellent technical acumen, as it relates to product development and systems engineering best practices
- Experience with large, distributed solutions deployed on non-standard infrastructure
- Direct experience working on federal programs or government contracts, understanding compliance and reporting constraints.
- Ability to understand and discuss software architectures, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or data flows within a development/engineering team
- Exhibit tool proficiency for agile product management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, or sim ilar platforms)
