Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Full Stack Developer (Fraud Technology / IBM Safer Payments) for a contract position with one of our premier banking clients.

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with a strong background in fraud prevention technologies to join the Fraud Technology team. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience developing full-stack applications and APIs while working within fraud platforms, preferably IBM Safer Payments . This individual will partner with Fraud Strategy, Product, Operations, Data Science, and Technology teams to deliver scalable solutions that identify, prevent, and mitigate fraud across digital banking, payments, deposits, and card channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and support full-stack applications that enable fraud detection, case management, and operational reporting.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with fraud detection platforms, with a strong preference for IBM Safer Payments .
  • Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services to support real-time fraud decisioning and transaction monitoring.
  • Create responsive user interfaces and dashboards that provide fraud analysts and business users with actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with Fraud Strategy teams to implement and enhance fraud rules, models, and decision workflows.
  • Integrate fraud solutions with core banking systems, digital banking platforms, payment networks, and third-party vendors.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security in high-volume transaction environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and architecture discussions.
  • Support production deployments, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and internal risk management policies.
  • Maintain documentation for application architecture, integrations, and operational procedures


Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting fraud prevention, fraud operations, risk management, or financial crime technology platforms.
  • Direct experience implementing, supporting, or developing solutions within IBM Safer Payments .
  • Experience developing applications using modern front-end frameworks.
  • Strong backend development experience with one or more of the following.
  • Experience developing REST APIs, web services, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Understanding of secure software development practices and application security principles.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with real-time transaction monitoring and fraud decision engines.
  • Knowledge of: ACH fraud, Wire fraud, Check fraud, Card fraud, Digital banking fraud, Account takeover prevention, Identity verification solutions
  • Familiarity with machine learning models and fraud analytics platforms.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Kafka, MQ, or other event-driven messaging platforms.
  • Experience integrating with third-party fraud vendors and banking systems
