About the RoleOur client, a leading national retail and corporate enterprise with a large headquarters presence, is seeking a Warehouse Technician to support hardware fulfillment and inventory operations for internal business users. This role sits within a high-tech support environment that manages non-retail hardware across multiple platforms, including Windows and macOS devices.
This is an on-site position supporting a fast-paced, service-oriented environment where attention to detail, adaptability, and strong communication skills are critical to success.
Job DescriptionThe IT Hardware Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for fulfilling hardware deployment and recovery requests for corporate users. This includes managing inventory, fulfilling orders, configuring devices, and supporting break/fix operations. The role requires flexibility to handle varying priorities on a day-to-day basis while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: - Fulfill hardware requests including picking, packing, shipping, and tracking devices
- Stock and organize inventory while maintaining accurate inventory records
- Perform inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
- Configure hardware, including firmware updates and system preparation
- Troubleshoot and perform basic break/fix repairs across multiple platforms
- Ensure accurate execution of established processes and documentation
- Build strong relationships with internal business users and provide clear communication
- Maintain high attention to detail in all inventory and fulfillment activities
Time Allocation (approximate): - 60% hardware fulfillment (picking, packing, shipping)
- 15% inventory tracking and reconciliation
- 15% device configuration and firmware updates
- 10% break/fix operations
Schedule & Work Environment: - 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Fully on-site role primarily based in Minneapolis, MN, with occasional work in Brooklyn Park, MN
QualificationsRequired Qualifications: - Certifications for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro (13-inch, 14-inch, 15-inch, 16-inch models) or Dell Client Foundations Certification
- Ability to lift and move items weighing 25+ pounds and maneuver pallets
- Experience working with inventory systems and warehouse operations
- Exposure to IT hardware deployment, configuration, or break/fix environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in execution of processes
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a collaborative environment
- Comfort working in ambiguous or evolving situations
Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience supporting hardware across Windows and macOS platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to build effective business relationships with internal stakeholders
