Nifi Engineer/Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a Nifi Engineer/Administrator.

Summary:
The Apache NiFi Administrator is a mid-level, hands-on role responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise data-flow pipelines in a production environment. This position focuses on platform stability, monitoring, incident response, and operational excellence to ensure high availability, security, and performance of NiFi platforms. This role works closely with both onshore and offshore teams in an incident-driven support model.

Responsibilities:
* Administer, operate, and support Apache NiFi clusters in production environments
* Manage NiFi flows, processors, queues, templates, and controller services
* Perform NiFi upgrades, patching, and configuration management
* Monitor NiFi performance, including throughput, latency, and failure rates
* Troubleshoot flow failures, back-pressure issues, and node-level problems
* Manage NiFi security, including TLS, users, policies, and certificate management
* Perform root cause analysis for NiFi outages and performance degradations
* Ensure high availability, node health, and data integrity across NiFi clusters
* Support NiFi platforms hosted on cloud infrastructure
* Respond to incidents and participate in a 24/7 production support model
* Follow and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation
* Collaborate effectively with global onshore and offshore teams

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on experience administering and supporting Apache NiFi in production
* Experience supporting NiFi on cloud-based infrastructure
* Strong experience with incident response and production troubleshooting
* Experience remediating security vulnerabilities, including CVE patching, library updates, and OS patching
* Experience using enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy
* Strong understanding of operational processes and incident-driven environments
* Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Prometheus, or similar

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with NiFi Registry
* Experience with Kafka, cloud storage platforms, or API integrations
* Automation experience using scripts or pipelines
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to lead troubleshooting calls and clearly explain technical issues
* Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
* Ability to remain calm and effective during production incidents

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
