Kforce has a client that is seeking a Field Test Engineer IV in Greenwood Village, CO.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Test Engineer IV to support our WiFi Operations team. This role is focused on hands-on, field-based testing and validation of wireless network performance, including Wi-Fi, 5G NR, and LTE technologies. The ideal candidate will lead field testing efforts, analyze real-world network performance data, and drive improvements to coverage, latency, throughput, and overall customer experience. This role requires a strong RF background, experience with drive testing and automation, and the ability to translate data into actionable network enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct field and drive testing for wireless networks (Wi-Fi, 5G, LTE) to evaluate performance and reliability
* Design and execute test plans and test cases for real-world network validation
* Automate testing workflows across iOS and Android devices (including superuser and tethered configurations)
* Collect and analyze data from drive tests, subscriber experience, and network KPIs
* Utilize internal dashboards and OEM tools to monitor and assess network performance
* Identify and troubleshoot RF and network issues impacting coverage, latency, and throughput
* Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to resolve network issues
* Use tools such as Accuver XCAL/XCAP, TEMS, Meritek for data collection and post-processing
* Support continuous network optimization initiatives to enhance customer and employee experience
* Document findings, provide reporting, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
* 4+ years of experience in RF engineering, wireless testing, or field-testing environments
* Hands-on experience with drive testing and field data collection
* Experience with iOS and Android automation, including tethered and rooted devices
* Experience with data collection and post-processing tools (e.g., Accuver XCAL/XCAP, TEMS, Meritek)
* Strong knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, and Wi-Fi technologies
* Strong understanding of network performance metrics and user experience optimization
* Familiarity with network protocols: DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP/QUIC, QCI, 5QI
* Proficiency with Android Debug Bridge (ADB) and device-level troubleshooting
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to troubleshoot complex RF and network performance issues
Additional Requirements:
* Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail
* Strong prioritization and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness and ability to travel for field testing activities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
