Senior Automation Engineer – Ansible- W2

Location: Woodlawn, MD
Work Arrangement: 5 Days Onsite

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant IT experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing production-grade Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, templates, and reusable automation.
• Strong experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including administration and development.
• Strong AWS engineering experience, including designing, provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience developing AWS CloudFormation templates and stacks.
• Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, IAM, compute, storage, and related services.
• Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Linux administration and engineering experience.
• Experience with Linux patching, package management, authentication, networking, storage, SELinux, and firewall management.
• Proficiency in Python for infrastructure automation, scripting, APIs, and integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and unit testing.
• Experience building and maintaining containerized execution environments.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Linux lifecycle/patch management.
• Experience with Linux identity and authentication technologies such as Red Hat IdM/FreeIPA.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across AWS, Linux, networking, authentication, storage, security, and application dependencies.
• Ability to independently own complex technical assignments from requirements through implementation and production support.

Preferred Skills:

• AWS Systems Manager (SSM), particularly patch-management capabilities.
• Experience with STIG implementation, remediation, or compliance validation.
• Experience working in FIPS-enabled environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Linux and AWS environments.
• Relevant Red Hat, Ansible, Linux, Python, or AWS certifications.
