Middleware Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Middleware Engineer for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ.

This role will lead end-to-end administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure production stability, handle platform remediation, patching, and upgrades, while mitigating and managing risk. The position involves serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation, performance tuning, and trouble-shooting as L3 production support
• Collaborate with application and testing teams daily, providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
• Create, maintain, and support application deployment templates
• Design Middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover capability
• Provide technical consultation to other team members and supported areas
• Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision

Requirements:

• 5 or more years of experience as a Java/J2EE Middleware Engineer
• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, or Information Technology
• Experience with IBM Websphere and RedHat JBoss
• Experience with one or more of the following Middleware products: webMethods, Appian, Apache, Spring Boot, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat
• Linux Operating System experience
• Java/Container Framework experience
• Experience with one of the following scripting languages: shell, python, jython
• Experience with one or more of the following Release Deploy Tools: Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, BitBucket, Celestial
• Flexible to work in different shifts, including rotational night shift and weekend support
• Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA and NEXUS
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
• Computer networking skills and working knowledge: Load balancers, firewall, etc.

Desired skills:

• 5 or more years of Middleware Engineering experience
• DEVOPS experience
• Experience with products such as BMC Remedy, Harmon mDeliver, TrueSight Bladelogic Server Automation
• Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail

Pay range: $56.90 - $64.90 per hour
