Role Summary

The Data & Systems Engineer will serve as a key technical resource responsible for managing enterprise business systems, optimizing data architecture, and expanding reporting capabilities. This role combines Salesforce administration, data engineering, systems management, and business intelligence responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Salesforce, SQL, data integration, reporting, and system administration, along with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary administrator for enterprise business applications, including CRM and related systems.
  • Manage system configuration, security, user administration, workflows, validations, and platform enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Build, optimize, and support data pipelines, data architectures, and reporting environments.
  • Manage data integrations and migrations between internal and third-party systems.
  • Ensure data integrity through cleansing, deduplication, audits, data loads, and ongoing governance practices.
  • Create and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot system, data, and reporting issues.
  • Develop processes supporting data transformation, metadata management, and workload optimization.
  • Maintain system documentation, audit logs, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technology solutions.
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, training, and guidance on system functionality.
  • Recommend process improvements and technology enhancements that increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience administering Salesforce, including security, configuration, workflows, reporting, and change management.
  • Strong SQL Server experience, including writing queries, views, stored procedures, permissions, and database administration tasks.
  • Experience developing and optimizing data pipelines, integrations, data structures, and reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience managing system security, user access controls, and governance processes.
  • Strong data management, data quality, and data integrity experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex business requirements and design effective technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Salesforce Administrator or related Salesforce certifications.
  • Experience designing custom applications, objects, workflows, formula fields, and advanced platform configurations.
  • Experience with nonprofit, healthcare, labor, membership-based, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with third-party reporting tools and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale databases and complex reporting environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience leading technology improvement initiatives and system modernization projects.
  • Background working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
