Strong network engineering fundamentals (route/switch) are required to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a senior technical contributor driving network automation strategy and execution
Design, build, and maintain automation solutions using Nautobot as the system of record
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for network provisioning, configuration, and compliance
Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, repeatable network changes
Automate routing and switching workflows across large-scale enterprise environments
Collaborate with network engineers, platform teams, and DevOps partners
Translate manual network processes into scalable, automated solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve automation pipeline issues and underlying network problems
Ensure automation adheres to enterprise security, compliance, and governance standards
Required Qualifications
Senior-level experience as a Network Engineer or Network Automation Engineer
Strong hands-on background in routing and switching, including:
BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
VLANs, STP, trunking
Enterprise-scale network operations
Proven experience with Nautobot (NetBox acceptable with strong Nautobot exposure)
Advanced Ansible experience specific to network automation
Hands-on experience integrating automation into CI/CD frameworks
Strong Git and version-controlled workflow experience
Experience automating network platforms such as Cisco, Arista, or Juniper
Ability to operate independently in a senior consultant capacity
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Python scripting for network automation
API-driven infrastructure experience
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform a plus)
Network certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, etc.)
