Summary

Network Administrator- Cloud & Security

We are looking for a Network Administrator (Cloud & Security) to support this company's field deployment environments. This position is responsible for deploying, operating, and securing the network infrastructure that powers their border-security analytics platforms.

The company is located in Reston, VA and will be 5 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain secure LAN/WAN environments, including VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks for field operations
  • Administer routing technologies such as BGP, OSPF, and static routing as required
  • Support Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) systems and mission-critical uptime requirements
  • Manage and maintain network equipment, file servers, firewalls, VPN platforms, and security monitoring tools
  • Perform routine system health checks, firmware and patch updates, and configuration changes
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, IP schematics, and standard operating procedures
  • Plan, install, terminate, and certify fiber and copper cabling to deliver a resilient physical network backbone that meets performance and redundancy standards
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong hands-on background with enterprise networking (routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, DHCP, DNS)
  • Install, terminate, test, and certify fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multimode; LC, SC, MPO) end-to-end
  • Route, label, and manage fiber and conduit across racks, closets, and structured cabling pathways, producing accurate as-built documentation
  • Experience with major networking and security platforms (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Practical working knowledge of routing protocols including BGP
  • Working knowledge of public cloud networking and security models (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Experience configuring and operating firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEMs, and security monitoring tools
  • Background performing network assessments, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
  • Familiarity with incident response workflows and threat analysis concepts
  • Ability to create SOPs, diagrams, and technical documentation for field/ops teams
  • Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and customer-facing environments
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (potentially heavy travel)
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
    - OR 8+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 5 years of network administration and IT infrastructure experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or both) required
  • Cybersecurity experience required (SOC operations, IR, threat detection, or similar)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and documenting physical infrastructure (rack/stack, cabling, server install)
