SAP FICO Functional consultant

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Functional Consultant with deep, hands-on FI/CO configuration experience. This role is for a true Configuration Lead who has delivered multiple end-to-end S/4HANA implementations and can own SAP Finance solutions from design through deployment.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to design, configure, and support scalable SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions in a multi-company code, multi-currency environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth configuration of SAP S/4HANA FI and CO modules including:

  • FI-GL, AP, AR, AA

  • CO-PC, CO-CCA, CO-ML, CO-PA

• Lead requirements gathering and translate business needs into SAP Finance solutions

• Design high-level solution architecture and support full SDLC (design, build, test, deploy)

• Support month-end close, substitutions & validations, ledger and sub-ledger setup

• Configure company codes, exchange rates, financial versions, and related controls

• Work with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, and Developers

• Analyze issues, troubleshoot root causes, and optimize system performance

• Read and debug ABAP code (functional debugging only; no development required)

• Ensure alignment with Agile methodologies, testing strategies, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of SAP FI/CO configuration experience

• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance

• Experience with end-to-end S/4HANA implementations

• Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, AA, and CO modules

• Experience working in multi-company code and multi-currency environments

• Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of FCV / FCTA Stand Programs

• Experience with integrations across MM, SD, and Production modules

• Exposure to SAP technologies such as ABAP, integrations, and UI tools

• Experience working in a Product-Driven Agile organization

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Master’s Degree preferred

• Not a light techno-functional position — strong FI/CO configuration depth is mandatory
