Network Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with hands-on experience in WatchGuard firewall solutions and Cisco Firepower security platforms to support and maintain our network infrastructure. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing secure network environments while ensuring high availability, performance, and security across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network security, firewall management, VPN technologies, and troubleshooting complex network environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure

• Configure and manage WatchGuard firewall appliances and security services

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC)

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security events

• Manage firewall rules, policies, and access controls

• Configure and support site-to-site VPNs and remote access VPN solutions

• Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity and security issues

• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with network security standards

• Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures

• Support network upgrades, patches, and security updates

• Participate in incident response for network-related security events

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3–5+ years of network engineering experience in enterprise environments

• Hands-on experience with WatchGuard firewall configuration and management

• Experience with Cisco Firepower (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC)

• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF)

• Experience configuring and supporting VPN technologies

• Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

• Familiarity with network security best practices and compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as:

  • Cisco CCNA / CCNP Security

  • WatchGuard Network Security Certification

  • CompTIA Security+

• Experience with network segmentation and zero-trust architectures

• Experience with cloud networking (Azure or AWS)

• Knowledge of SIEM and security monitoring platforms
