Duties

Help

  • Serves as a systems analyst and technical expert within the FedMall PMO and is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and guidance to the assigned program in matters..
  • relating to information management issues that involve a wide range of Information Technology (IT) management.
  • Develops overall plans, criteria, and programming specifications for the assigned projects and evaluates, tests, and debugs critical portions of the systems software.
  • Oversees systems testing, coordinates formal documentation preparation, and represents the organization in matters pertaining to assigned projects and develops and uses evaluation techniques to monitor performance of the system software.
  • Develops overall functional and systems requirements and specifications; conducts business process reengineering and feasibility studies; prepares business cases; defines systems scope and objectives; develops cost estimates..
  • ensures integration of all systems components; and plans systems implementation while ensuring the rigorous application of information security and information assurance practices.
  • Provides highly technical advice and assistance to information users such as programmers, system analysts, monitors, operators, vendors, functional specialists..
  • and managers in the resolution of unique or unprecedented software problems and the selection of alternatives among competing alternatives.
  • Makes recommendations pertaining to new hardware and software involving information processing operational developments that will enhance the information processing and information management posture of multiple agencies/organizations.

Qualifications

To qualify for a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

  1. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:


  • Makes decisions and recommendations that significantly change, interpret, or develop important IT policies and programs
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates security programs for Automated Information Systems, ensuring compliance with all requirements
  • Develops, implements, and deploys software-intensive programs that support operations and integrate advanced technologies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
