Summary of Role:

Seeking a highly technical and motivated Edge Technology Solution Engineer to join the Digital Resiliency Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful design and implementation of edge compute, storage and end point technologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

What You Will Do:
  • Research, pilot, and design digital technology platforms, including localized AI
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Cyber, Operations, and partners to deliver practical solutions
  • Translate business and architectural requirements into deployable systems
  • Oversee integration of compute, networking, storage, and physical infrastructure (power, HVAC, backups)
  • Conduct hands-on site surveys for edge and factory deployments
  • Stay current on emerging technologies through vendors and conferences
  • Recommend design changes and simplify solutions based on real-world constraints
  • Work with automation teams and technical writers to enable scalable deployments and lifecycle documentation

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in infrastructure support and design

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience participating in multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in data center / and server migrations
  • Experienced with hypervisors and Kubernetes Platforms- VMware, Hyper-V, AKS, Openshift, etc.
  • Experience in architecture diagrams, design solutioning,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work Location

This is a hybrid role, Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
