Role Summary
We are seeking a Principal Engineer, Marketing Technology to architect and lead the evolution of a customer data platform that serves as the foundation for customer engagement, loyalty, and campaign orchestration. This role plays a critical part in enabling personalized, data driven marketing across multiple brands and channels. You will bridge marketing strategy and engineering execution, ensuring technology investments directly support business growth and customer experience goals.
In this role, you will define CDP architecture, oversee complex integrations, and guide engineering best practices across the marketing technology ecosystem. You will partner closely with customer experience, product, data, analytics, privacy, and digital teams to build scalable solutions that support audience activation, orchestration, measurement, and ongoing optimization.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute the technical strategy for the customer data platform aligned to marketing and loyalty goals
• Lead integration of the CDP with marketing automation, CRM, loyalty, analytics, and digital platforms
• Ensure customer data systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance across all touchpoints
• Establish standards for data quality, taxonomy, event design, schema governance, and platform reliability
• Partner with cross functional teams to prioritize enhancements, define requirements, and deliver solutions
• Provide technical leadership for marketing technology engineering, including solution design and documentation
• Support data governance, privacy, consent management, and compliance requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through platform optimization, innovation, and adoption of new capabilities
Key Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in technical roles supporting marketing technology or customer data platforms
• 7+ years of hands-on experience building, implementing, or supporting CDPs or related data ecosystems
• Proven experience leading complex integrations across marketing, loyalty, CRM, and analytics platforms
• Strong expertise in customer data architecture, identity resolution, segmentation, and activation workflows
• Proficiency with APIs, data pipelines, cloud data environments, and system integrations
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and managing structured and unstructured customer data
• Strong understanding of data privacy, consent, and governance principles
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively across technical and business teams
