Cybersecurity Business Partner Analyst 100% Remote
This role serves as the bridge between cybersecurity and the business—helping operational teams understand risks, vulnerabilities, and remediation strategies while ensuring projects move forward securely and efficiently.
This is not a traditional GRC or audit-heavy role, and it is not purely a hands-on engineering position. Instead, this person will act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to the business, partnering closely with OT teams, infrastructure teams, and leadership to translate technical security findings into clear, actionable business decisions.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in OT / ICS cybersecurity, particularly within gas infrastructure or critical infrastructure environments, and the ability to confidently communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Cybersecurity Consulting
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and cybersecurity teams across operational environments
- Partner with business leaders, infrastructure teams, and OT teams to ensure projects and systems are designed and maintained securely
- Translate cybersecurity findings into business-relevant risks, recommendations, and action plans
- Help teams understand security priorities without creating unnecessary friction or roadblocks
Vulnerability Management & Risk Reduction
- Review vulnerabilities identified by internal threat exposure teams and determine:
- What the vulnerabilities mean
- Potential attack paths and exposure risks
- Mitigation vs. remediation strategies
- Recommendations for business owners to reduce risk
- Support prioritization of remediation efforts based on operational impact and business risk
- Track remediation commitments, timelines, and follow-through
OT Security & Incident Support
- Support cybersecurity efforts across OT environments, hybrid IT/OT systems, and gas infrastructure operations
- Help evaluate secure network design, segmentation, and Zero Trust strategies
- Assist with micro-segmentation initiatives and secure architecture reviews
- Serve as a business-side liaison during investigations, incidents, and escalations when cybersecurity events occur
- Support onboarding of new projects, acquisitions, vendors, and legacy systems from a cybersecurity perspective
Reporting, Communication & Process Improvement
- Create clear risk summaries, leadership updates, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders
- Develop repeatable templates, documentation, and workflows to improve operational efficiency
- Help identify recurring patterns and systemic issues across the cybersecurity landscape
- Maintain professionalism and strong communication in a highly visible, fully onsite business-facing role
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, OT security, infrastructure security, or related operational security environments
- Strong experience in OT / ICS cybersecurity (required)
- Experience supporting gas infrastructure, industrial environments, or critical infrastructure operations strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, remediation planning, and operational risk reduction
- Networking and infrastructure security knowledge
- Ability to explain cybersecurity risks clearly to business stakeholders and operational teams
- Strong business-facing communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and operate in fast-paced enterprise environments
- Professionalism and willingness to work fully onsite in Houston, TX
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with micro-segmentation and Zero Trust initiatives
- Cloud security experience
- Web implementation security experience
- Incident response support experience
- Hands-on cybersecurity background across multiple domains (not purely GRC)
- Experience with mergers & acquisitions security reviews
- Experience building home labs, personal cyber projects, or demonstrated self-driven technical learning
- Certifications such as CISSP, cloud security, or network security certifications (only if backed by strong applied experience)
