A leading global automotive organization is seeking a Chassis Design Engineers to join its Chassis Foundation Design team in Raymond, OH. This role focuses on the design and development of core chassis components, supporting vehicle programs from concept through production.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on CATIA designer with strong mechanical design fundamentals who can contribute quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop chassis components including:
o Wheels & tires
o Brake systems
o Fuel systems
o Exhaust systems
o Pedals
• Create and maintain:
o 3D models (solid and surface) using CATIA (V5/V6)
o 2D drawings and 3D annotated drawings
• Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) and robust modeling practices
• Support basic CAE analysis (e.g., stiffness, durability using CATIA tools)
• Collaborate closely with internal engineers (PICs) and cross-functional teams
• Manage multiple design activities and meet program timelines
• Evaluate and support resolution of design-related issues and changes
• Communicate design updates, progress, and technical details clearly to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
• 3–6+ years of experience in chassis or mechanical component design
• Proficiency in CATIA (V5 or V6):
o Solid and surface modeling required
o V6 preferred, but V5 candidates with strong fundamentals are acceptable
• Strong understanding of:
o Design intent and robust modeling practices
o GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Experience applying DFM principles
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in automotive chassis design
• Experience with components such as:
o Wheels, brakes, fuel, or exhaust systems
• Exposure to basic CAE tools (e.g., CATIA GPS solver)
• Familiarity with automotive development processes and standards
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, systems, and methodologies
Rate: $40 - $45 W2 per hour
Location: Raymond, OH
