Cyber Security Project Engineer

$170K-$180K Position Overview Client is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Project Engineer to support the design, accreditation, implementation, and sustainment of secure enterprise and cloud-based environments handling extremely sensitive data. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting systems across multiple network fabrics, hybrid cloud environments, and globally distributed architectures.
This role requires strong technical expertise in cybersecurity engineering, system accreditation, cloud security, and enterprise infrastructure modernization.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to ensure systems meet stringent security and operational requirements.
Responsibilities Lead or support accreditation efforts for systems handling extremely sensitive data
Design, develop, maintain, and secure systems operating across multiple network fabrics
Support cybersecurity engineering activities for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
Implement and maintain security controls for AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud environments
Develop secure architectures for globally distributed systems and applications
Optimize cloud-hosted environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and operations teams to maintain secure system operations
Support security compliance, risk mitigation, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening initiatives
Participate in system modernization and migration efforts involving hybrid cloud architectures
Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience accrediting systems that handle extremely sensitive data
Demonstrated experience accrediting systems on multiple network fabrics
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, or maintaining systems that handle extremely sensitive data
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, or maintaining systems on multiple network fabrics
Demonstrated experience with Cloud Service Provider (CSP) offerings, specifically AWS, Azure, and Oracle
Demonstrated experience optimizing cloud-hosted systems for cost and performance efficiencies
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, or maintaining systems used globally
Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud architectures
Demonstrated experience designing or maintaining on-premises architectures
