Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 10900 NE 4th Street, Floor 8, Bellevue, WA 98004
Duties: Assess gaps/updates/modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions (in case of agile methodology, for the iteration). Classify the requirements into applicable types. Anticipate the solution risks/issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex (For agile methodology). Assist in design of solutions such that the processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product. Evaluate trade-offs while designing a component based on the business requirements. Assist in conversion of HD (High Level Design) to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules/components of a product. Create/configure minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable). Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements in to test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component/module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis. Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience building performant frontend applications using React, Redux, Next.js, NX, React Query, GraphQL, HTML5, Javascript, Typescript, and CSS3, and Tachyons. Experience integrating User Interfaces with scalable back-end services (REST, GraphQL). Experience in testing frameworks React Testing Library, Jest, Test Caf, SauceLabs to increase site reliability. Experience understanding the Business/Customer/Technical requirements and assisting in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs. Experience participating in the discovery phase of projects to come up with a high-level design by partnering with concerned stakeholders. Experience monitoring and debugging production applications using Splunk, Dynatrace to pinpoint root causes and fix bugs. Experience utilizing performance tuning and analytics tools including Splunk, Dynatrace to monitor and identify root cause. Experience improving the quality of software systems using industry best practices for code quality, accessibility, and usability and ensuring security policy requirements are met. Experience with the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration. Demonstrated knowledge of cloud technologies and designing solutions deployed to Azure, Google Cloud Platform or AWS. Experience with Agile development lifecycle methodology. Experience executing test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Experience tracking and analyzing defects for the component/ module and carrying out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD workflow and deployment systems using Jenkins and git. Experience with SEO techniques, understanding of SEO principles, and familiar with modern debugging skills. Experience working with container-based technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. Experience working directly with Product, Business, Automation and other stake holders in delivering end to end product features. Experience designing and developing GraphQL API clients (using GraphQL, JavaScript, Node.js, Apollo client). Experience developing code to send analytics data from client application (Frontend site) to an analytics service for tracking user journey and interactions which help in planning future initiatives for increased engagement. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $149,240/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
