Role title: Lead AI Agent Agentic SDLC & GitHub Copilot Engineering

Location: Iselin, NJ

Mode of work: Remote / Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for a hands-on Lead AI Agents Engineer to architect and implement end-to-end, AI-augmented SDLC pipelines using autonomous agents and GitHub Copilot extensions. You will design multi-agent orchestration, embed code-quality and security gates into CI/CD, and build agent skills that accelerate engineering velocity while ensuring governance, reliability, and deterministic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver agentic SDLC pipelines that automate requirements analysis, code generation, review, testing, and production deployment.
  • Design, configure, and extend GitHub Copilot agents, Copilot Chat skills, and Copilot extensions to automate developer workflows and enforce coding standards.
  • Build and manage multi-agent systems with clearly defined agent roles (planner, coder, reviewer, tester), communication patterns, and handoff protocols.
  • Integrate AI agents with static analysis, linting, and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube) to enforce quality and security gates inside CI/CD.
  • Automate test generation using AI agents (unit, integration, BDD/Gherkin) and evolve test data strategies to continuously improve coverage.
  • Create reusable, parameterized prompts, agent skills, and RAG patterns for reliable, explainable agent behavior.
  • Collaborate with platform, security, and developer productivity teams to define governance, observability, and rollback/circuit-breaker controls for agent actions.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts, mentor engineers on agent best practices, and produce clear runbooks for production use and incident handling.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, and Copilot agent/extension development.
  • Strong track record building and operating multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or comparable solutions.
  • Solid software engineering background with deep experience in at least one major stack (Java/Spring, Python, or Node.js).
  • Practical experience integrating CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tooling (build pipelines, static analysis, security scanners).
  • Demonstrated experience designing automated testing pipelines and generating tests via AI or automation tools.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and LLM-driven tooling and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams to operationalize agent workflows.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience enforcing code quality and governance with SonarQube, CodeRabbit, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-native deployment (Kubernetes, GitOps) and pipeline-as-code tooling (Jenkins/X, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with MLOps or model evaluation frameworks, and techniques to mitigate model drift or hallucination.
  • Published examples, open-source contributions, or prior POCs for multi-agent systems, Copilot skills, or automated test generation.
