We are seeking a Python Developer to drive large-scale data engineering initiatives within a Data & Advanced Analytics environment. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in building, deploying, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, along with technical leadership experience to mentor engineers and collaborate across teams.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building production-grade data platforms, applying engineering best practices, and leading end-to-end data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark for batch and streaming workloads
• Build, schedule, and monitor complex workflows using Apache Airflow
• Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects using GitHub, Docker, and cloud-native tools
• Apply test-driven development (TDD) practices and automate unit and integration testing
• Ensure secure coding practices and robust design patterns throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with data architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs and data flow diagrams
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and system issues
• Support cross-team knowledge sharing and cross-training for operational continuity

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years in hands-on data engineering
• Strong experience building production-grade data pipelines using Python and PySpark
• Proven expertise in Apache Airflow (DAG design, deployment, monitoring)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows
• Hands-on experience with Docker and cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
• Strong object-oriented Python skills and dependency management experience
• Proficiency with Git (branching, merging, pull requests, collaboration workflows)
• Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• Strong understanding of SQL for data ingestion and analytics
• Comfortable with code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative development
• Experience working in waterfall, iterative, and agile methodologies

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Exposure to enterprise tools such as OpenShift, Cloudera, Tableau, Confluence, and Jira
• Strong engineering mindset focused on maintainability, scalability, and testability
