Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to support complex payment and transaction-processing platforms. The role requires strong hands-on experience in API testing and automation, functional automation, integration testing, end-to-end validation, and backend data verification. The engineer will work in an Agile environment and help ensure that applications, APIs, system integrations, and data flows meet functional and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute functional and API automation test scripts using modular frameworks and engineering best practices.
Perform functional, API, integration, end-to-end, system, smoke, and regression testing across complex applications and services.
Validate payment and transaction-processing workflows across APIs, applications, downstream systems, and data stores.
Test REST APIs using tools and frameworks such as Postman, Swagger, and REST Assured, including request, response, and JSON validation.
Develop and maintain UI automation using Selenium WebDriver with Java and supporting frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
Use SQL for backend database validation and verify data accuracy across integrated systems.
Participate in requirements and design reviews, evaluate testability, and define test coverage based on requirements and risk analysis.
Identify, document, prioritize, track, and validate defects through resolution, and participate in root-cause analysis when required.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices.
Estimate testing effort, identify obstacles and risks, and complete assigned deliverables within agreed timelines and quality standards.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience, with strong hands-on test automation expertise.
Strong experience in API testing and API automation, preferably with REST-based services.
Strong experience in functional, integration, end-to-end, system, and regression testing.
Hands-on experience with Java, REST Assured, Postman, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG or JUnit, and SQL.
Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira or ALM.
Experience with source control, build, and CI/CD technologies such as Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or TeamCity.
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile delivery, risk-based testing, defect management, and automation best practices.
Ability to analyze requirements, estimate QA effort, independently manage testing activities, and communicate quality risks clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing payment platforms, payment processing, benefit card solutions, financial transactions, or other integration-heavy systems.
Experience validating data and events across APIs, databases, messaging systems, and distributed applications.
Knowledge of behavior-driven development using Cucumber and Gherkin.
Experience mentoring team members or coordinating QA deliverables across a project team.
