Job Description:
Director, Systems Engineering & Application Support
The Director of Systems Engineering & Application Support leads a team of Infrastructure Engineers and Application Support professionals responsible for designing, engineering, monitoring, and managing large scale, mission critical systems that support high volume financial transactions within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Lead end to end infrastructure and application engineering, including system design, build, configuration, and lifecycle management across physical and virtual server environments.
Oversee daily systems administration, systems management, and application support functions ensuring stability, security, availability, and adherence to industry standards.
Develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with project delivery, production sustainment, and team talent development.
Architect and guide complex infrastructure solutions spanning enterprise data centers, high volume transaction platforms, and regulated environments.
Direct engineering efforts related to availability, resiliency, patching, hardening, performance optimization, and automated deployment.
Provide operational support for development, test, and production environments, including incident management, root cause analysis, certificate management, and middleware maintenance.
Collaborate with enterprise technology, audit, compliance, and business leadership to ensure governance, security controls, and policy adherence.
Drive innovation through research, evaluation, and introduction of next generation technologies and automation strategies.
Maintain system security and data integrity, monitor system and security logs, and proactively address performance or availability issues.
Partner with vendors to enhance operational scale, efficiency, and service quality.
Lead and develop engineering staff, ensuring consistent design standards, operational excellence, and high quality customer communication.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of relevant infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
Strong background in UNIX/Linux, Solaris, shell scripting, hardware/OS troubleshooting, and enterprise server configuration (including WebLogic).
Experience in system patching, hardening, automated deployments, and secure operations.
Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructures, applications, and mission critical environments
