Job Title: Business Analyst Property & Casualty Insurance
Location: 100% Remote (Wisconsin)
Duration: Long Term
Client Note: Especially important early on for workflow mapping and translating business rules (e.g., FNOL) into API and saga requirements; involvement decreases as execution stabilizes. Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance will be a deal clincher. Candidates without any Insurance experience will not be considered.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain expertise. This role is critical during the early phases of the project, focusing on workflow mapping and translating complex business rules (e.g., FNOL) into API and saga-based system requirements. Involvement will gradually decrease once execution stabilizes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end workflow mapping during early project phases, with a strong focus on First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and claims-related processes.
- Translate insurance business rules and workflows into clear API contracts, saga orchestration requirements, and functional specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects, backend engineers, and product owners to define event-driven and microservices-based solutions.
- Document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows using industry-standard tools.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring accurate interpretation of insurance use cases.
- Support solution design reviews to ensure alignment with P&C insurance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in early sprint planning and backlog grooming; reduce involvement as systems mature and execution stabilizes.
- Assist QA teams with business rule validation, edge cases, and test scenario clarity.
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory: Strong experience as a Business Analyst in Property & Casualty Insurance.
- Hands-on experience with FNOL workflows, claims intake, and claims lifecycle processes.
- Proven ability to translate insurance business logic into API and saga requirements.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in early-stage, high-ambiguity project environments.
