Mechanical Test Technician Seeking an experienced Mechanical Test Technician to support testing, validation, and failure analysis of semiconductor hardware and advanced packaging assemblies within a high-performance R&D lab environment. This role requires strong expertise in mechanical reliability methodologies, precision instrumentation, fixture development, and structured validation processes supporting silicon and system-level hardware. The ideal candidate operates with technical independence and collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver accurate, data-driven results that ensure hardware robustness across mechanical and thermal conditions.
Required: Hands-on experience performing mechanical testing and inspection of semiconductor hardware, advanced packaging, or high-performance electronic assemblies in an R&D environment.
Proficiency operating lab and machine shop equipment, including universal test systems (e.g., Instron), drop/impact systems, high-speed cameras, thermal chambers, DAQs, power supplies, DMMs, and standard fabrication tools.
Experience designing and building custom test fixtures and setting up instrumentation for structured data collection and reporting.
Proficiency with NX CAD or similar 3D modeling software.
Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD models with strong attention to precision measurements and tolerances.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced development cycles while maintaining strong communication.
Experience working in a lab environment and lab maintenance as well as documentation skills.
Pluses: Experience with LabVIEW and NI-based data acquisition systems.
Background in semiconductor package reliability testing, including thermal cycling, warpage, shock, and vibration.
Experience using optical or digital metrology systems for surface, flatness, profile, and tolerance measurements.
Experience developing structured validation plans and documentation.
Estimated Min Rate: $35.00
Estimated Max Rate: $40.00/hr+, depends on work experience.
