Java Developer (Ex Capital-One)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with AWS experience to join our dynamic development team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using Java and Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud-native solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications.

• Build scalable and secure cloud-native applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.

• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with backend services.

• Participate in architecture and code reviews, and contribute to best practices in software development.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following Agile methodologies.

• Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment automation.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of professional experience in Java development.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.

• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes a plus).

• Working knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer Associate or higher).

• Experience with Spring Boot, Microservices architecture.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK stack).
