Job Description
The ATSV Manager plans, directs, designs, and executes IT-related activities and programs that are of a complex and critical nature. The Band E Manager selects, leads, counsels, motivates, sets expectations, and evaluates medium to large teams. Additionally, they confer with and advise direct reports on administrative policies and procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution, sourcing decisions, budget, and priorities. This person also assists in defining, implementing, and prioritizing IT policies, procedures, and best practices. The ATSV Manager impacts team and business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Builds long-term relationships within team and amongst peers by creating an environment of safety and innovation.

Sets and executes team strategy, including objectives, plans and policies for area of responsibility to develop and deliver innovative solutions and systems in support of Enterprise goals. Communicates strategy to the team so they understand their role in achieving the established goals.

Leads employees and influences peers through change by using one's self as an example.

Executes HR-related processes and develops staff through coaching and mentoring and providing specific, timely, open, honest, and constructive performance feedback.

Models and creates an environment of accountability for direct reports and peers.

Anticipates issues and develops preventive measures.

Initiates and implements continuous improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.

Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Makes decisions that have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their immediate team.

Manages day to day work of employees by monitoring budgets, expenses and scope and facilitating project delivery and support for complex projects of critical importance.

Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and contributes to Allstate business and functional strategy.

• Evaluates competencies, skills, and impact of product team engineers.
• Coaches for design and simplification along with reuse of enterprise tools.
• Co-owns and leads all incident responses and root cause management in partnership with Digital Product Manager.

Additional Skills:

• Identifies opportunities to pivot on stories or technical approach to achieve intended outcomes faster.
• Holds decision rights on timing for what the engineers need to work on and works in partnership with Digital Product Manager on ongoing prioritization.
• Influences decisions on engineering staffing and upskilling to best position the team to achieve intended outcomes.
• Drives breaking work down for digital product inception ceremonies, ensuring technical approach and meaningful iterations align to targeted outcomes.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding and application of enterprise standards, tools and patterns.
• Has a deep understanding of integration points across upstream and downstream systems.
• Responsible for coaching Product Engineers on systems thinking and design principles.

Experience:

7 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $110,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

*** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e., commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
