Summary

Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Peoria, IL

Job Responsibilities:

Create new or modify existing cooling components or systems based on customer/project requirements through extensive collaboration.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate component/system development and determine project scope and limitation
Review project requests describing customer needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
High ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Intermediate knowledge of a cooling component/system development lifecycle: from customer engagement, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to design development, testing and product delivery.
Intermediate ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, thermal simulation and structural analysis.
High knowledge of Creo 3D modeling tools, Teamcenter processes and print creation/releasing.

Job contributions to Work Group:

3D design components/systems Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Extensive customer communication and collaboration, developing a production ready product.
Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.

Technical Skills (Required):

Knowledge of cooling systems technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Generates specifications for parts or components with Creo CAD software.
Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
Uses Creo CAD to perform intermediate drafting such as wire frames, solid objects and array of objects, including but not limited to fabrications, castings and modular assemblies.
Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

(Desired)

Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
