Job Description:The Automation Engineer II deploys engineering techniques to design, develop, test, and manage automated machinery processes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities- Designs, programs, simulates, and tests automated machinery to streamline manufacturing processes.
- Uses design techniques to build automated systems such as measurement functions, control functions, and actuators, etc.
- Considers automation workflow, production layout, and safety measures when designing automated machinery processes.
- Audits current equipment and automated processes to determine failure rates. Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
- Drafts and designs detailed documentation for design specifications and additional relevant documents.
- Adheres to international and local regulatory standards for design, process, and safety considerations.
Essential Qualifications- Proficient with Microsoft office.
- Experience in use of ERP Systems, preferably IQMS.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma background/knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree and 6+ years of Automation Engineering experience.
- Previous plastic injection molding experience.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Desirable Qualifications:- Experience within the medical device industry.
