Summary

Job Description
The Principal IT Business Systems Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch enterprise IT business application solutions and systems to support and improve operational business processes across the company. This includes facilitating business process design workshops, gathering and synthesizing functional and technical requirements, analyzing data to support business cases for proposed projects and new technology investments, and supporting the operations of production business applications. The BSA will serve as a relationship manager for specific business units to help identify, scope, prioritize, and deliver their business technology initiatives. The BSA is also responsible for analyzing current issues and proposing solutions that balance cost with business benefits. This individual will combine strong business acumen with proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the business value of IT system investments.

Systems Planning, Integration & Deployment

Lead acquisition integration efforts to migrate data, systems, and business processes to Deltek’s enterprise applications with a specific focus on customer data, CRM and billing systems, and application integrations.
Lead business process design sessions for the purpose of enhancing business operations and information flow through IT systems.
Lead and execute system testing activities, including end-user acceptance testing, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
Research SW products and lead vendor evaluation / selection processes for IT business applications through a formal methodology.
Perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for proposed IT systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and implementation of new IT business applications, and enhancements to existing business applications.
Create use-case models, requirements specifications, and interface diagrams to provide direction to system programmers.
Lead training, communications and change management efforts for systems implementation projects.

Education and Experience:

BA / BS, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent experience. Masters degree is a plus.
6-10 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
4-5 years of experience implementing sales, customer care, order processing, and / or billing systems in the High-Tech or Information Services industries.
Experience with customer data management in CRM systems including customer data scrubbing, matching, and de-duplication.
Experience with Financial applications, ERP’s, and knowledge of accounting processes, concepts, and terminology
Consulting experience or background strongly preferred
Experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:

Strong experience in migration of data include, analyzation, mapping, transformation, and conversion.
Experience in the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) on a variety of technologies and platforms.
Must be able to translate business requirements into well-formed technical and system requirements.
Experience performing cost-benefit and ROI analyses
Prior experience with CRM, sales, financial, and billing systems implementation and operations is required.
Knowledge of sales and order to cash (OTC) business processes
Experience implementation and supporting SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce.com).
Strong experience with IT project management processes and approaches.
Experience with modeling business processes, data flows, and workflow processes
Customer Management Skills:

Excellent communication (oral and written), relationship building, influence and negotiation skills with both technical and business resources.
Experience working with customers in a variety of roles / levels from junior developers to executives at a VP and higher level
Other Competencies:

Customer is a fast-paced environment; the ability to multitask on different projects at the same time and to react deftly to changes in business priorities is critical
Experience in coordinating multiple priorities, managing conflicts where needed
Must have ability to identify and drive change management from a process and technical solution perspective
