Linux/Unix Administrator

Role: UNIX / Infrastructure Administrator (Cloud Operations)

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Administration: Manage daily operations of Linux (RHEL, SUSE, CentOS) and UNIX (AIX) servers.
• Infrastructure Life Cycle: Handle system builds, hardware/software upgrades, patching (Yum/Satellite), and configuration management.
• Hardware Management: Deploy and manage IBM Power hardware using HMC and remote administration systems (iLOM, iDRAC, iLO).
• Performance & Sizing: Monitor system health, perform capacity planning, and troubleshoot complex performance bottlenecks.
• Automation & Tooling: Drive efficiency through Shell or Python scripting and utilize configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Saltstack).
• Collaborative Support: Act as a technical consultant for application admins to optimize underlying infrastructure for their specific workloaz

Technical Requirements

• Core OS: Expert-level knowledge of AIX, SUSE, RHEL, and CentOS.
• Storage/Networking: Mastery of LVM (Logical Volume Manager), TCP/IP functionality, and networking (VLANs, Bonding).
• Provisioning: Proven experience with Kickstart/Jumpstart, system imaging, and NIM.
• Hardware: Hands-on experience with IBM Power systems and HMC (Hardware Management Console).
• Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Shell for automation.

Preferred "Plus" Skills

• Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform.
• Exposure to Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure).
