Location: Sunnyvale, California (Onsite)
Role Overview
This role involves the design and construction of internal web applications and data infrastructure. The position requires partnership with metrology engineers and manufacturing partners to translate domain requirements into system architecture. The architect will be responsible for building full-stack applications and deploying scalable data solutions in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build internal web applications for creating and managing metrology configurations.
- Architect and deploy a data lake with automated folder structure generation, schema validation, and event-driven processing pipelines.
- Build serverless backend services for configuration, data ingestion, and summary aggregation.
- Develop integration adapters for optical tester outputs into structured storage.
- Design and deploy internal analytics dashboards for process capability, yield trending, and statistical process control (SPC) monitoring.
- Implement automated analysis workflows and validation.
- Establish data governance, including role-based access controls, schema versioning, and audit logging.
- Partner with optical metrology engineers and manufacturing partners to translate requirements into system architecture.
- Travel for site assessments, design meetings, and construction review, not to exceed 15%.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience building full-stack web applications with a React/TypeScript frontend and a cloud backend. 5+ years of experience with cloud services such as S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, DynamoDB, and Athena. 5+ years of experience designing data pipelines and models for manufacturing, quality, or IoT systems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and analysis. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
Communication: Communication skills to translate between hardware engineering experts and software architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), GRR methodology, or metrology/quality data systems.
- Familiarity with MES implementations or industrial data acquisition systems.
- Background in display/optical metrology or hardware quality systems.
- Experience with AI/ML agent frameworks for connecting analysis workflows to structured data.
