About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Senior MicroStrategy Developer with MicroStrategy certification and deep expertise in metadata architecture, master data concepts, and enterprise BI environments. This role focuses on optimizing, maintaining, and modernizing the MicroStrategy ecosystem with strong emphasis on metadata management, performance tuning, and environment cleanup.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on enterprise experience, understands how metadata drives analytics across projects, and can establish scalable best practices for a well-governed BI environment.
Responsibilities MicroStrategy Development & Architecture - Design and develop MicroStrategy reports using Platform Analytics or Enterprise Manager for environment cleanup and optimization.
- Provide architectural direction on metadata design, object reuse, and dependency management.
- Apply best practices for logical data modelling and semantic layer design.
Metadata & Master Data Management - Manage and enhance MicroStrategy metadata with strong understanding of master data principles.
- Maintain consistent hierarchies, definitions, and business rules aligned with enterprise MDM standards.
- Analyze dependencies and impacts across reports, dashboards, and projects.
Environment Optimization & Cleanup - Assess and optimize the BI environment for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Identify, document, and remove redundant or obsolete objects within the metadata.
- Establish standards for object lifecycle management and sustainable metadata hygiene.
Collaboration & Support - Partner with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective MicroStrategy solutions.
- Provide mentorship to junior developers and report authors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to MicroStrategy performance, metadata, and environment stability.
Minimum Qualifications - MicroStrategy Certification.
- 7+ years of hands-on MicroStrategy development and support in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of MicroStrategy metadata, schema objects, and logical data modeling.
- Solid grasp of master data concepts, shared dimensions, and enterprise hierarchies.
- Proven experience optimizing MicroStrategy environments, including metadata cleanup and rationalization.
- Strong SQL expertise and experience with relational databases and data warehouses.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Experience with SaaS-based data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with MicroStrategy administration and security management.
- Familiarity with data governance and metadata management frameworks.
- Experience with cloud-based BI and data architectures.
- Prior involvement in defining BI development standards and best practices.
