Full Stack Software Engineer (AI-Accelerated Development)

 

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and enhancing enterprise-level software solutions. This is a hands-on, full stack role, front end through back end, for an engineer who uses agentic AI tools to meaningfully accelerate how code gets written, tested, and delivered. You’ll work closely with Architects, Business Analysts, users, and technical team members to analyze complex requirements, build scalable solutions, and support new and existing applications.The ideal candidate is language agnostic (strong Java or Python backgrounds are both welcome), brings deep full stack development experience, and has real, practical experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar to speed up development. This is a software engineering role, not a data engineering role.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs, implements, and maintains enterprise-level full stack applications across the front end and back end.
Uses agentic AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and delivery.
Develops new software solutions and significant enhancements to existing applications based on business and technical requirements.
Leads design and coding sessions and collaborates with Architects and other technical team members to develop and implement solutions.
Performs complex analysis of system requirements, business processes, and information systems to identify effective technology solutions.
Translates business requirements into technical designs and scalable software solutions.
Writes SQL to retrieve and write application data within the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake).
Articulates technical designs and helps resolve technical and design conflicts throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborates with Business Analysts and business users to understand requirements and develop effective solutions.
Conducts code reviews and promotes adherence to enterprise coding standards and development best practices, including the effective and responsible use of AI-generated code.
Troubleshoots and resolves application and customer issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Responds to user feedback and contributes to application enhancements, improvements, and new functionality.
Participates in systems planning, scheduling, implementation, and deployment activities.
Performs thorough software testing and debugging to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
Creates and maintains technical documentation related to software solutions, system changes, and development processes.
Mentors less experienced developers, including helping them adopt AI-assisted development practices.
Communicates technical issues, risks, project status, and recommendations effectively to technical and business stakeholders.
Works effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
May participate in rotating on-call support as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
5+ years of professional full stack software development experience.
Strong hands-on coding skills in Java or Python (language agnostic; depth of engineering ability matters more than a specific language).
Experience building both front-end and back-end components of web-based enterprise applications.
Hands-on agentic AI development experience, using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar to accelerate real-world code delivery (not just autocomplete).
Working SQL knowledge sufficient to query, retrieve, and write data; experience with Snowflake is a plus. Data transformation and data engineering experience are not required.
Experience developing enterprise-level software solutions and enhancing existing applications.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience analyzing complex system requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
Experience performing code reviews and working within enterprise coding standards.
Experience with software testing, QA methodologies, debugging, and system analysis.
Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively with Architects, Business Analysts, developers, business users, and other stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and train less experienced team members.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new and emerging technologies.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience establishing or championing AI-assisted development workflows within an engineering team.
Experience with Snowflake as an enterprise data warehouse.
Experience with imaging technology.
Experience with system design, systems analysis, software implementation, and upgrades.
Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) or similar modeling methodologies.
Knowledge of project management and change management principles related to software development lifecycles.
Experience leading technical teams, driving consensus, and resolving complex technical problems.
