Position Overview
The developer will actively advise and participate in the architecture and hands-on development of applications using Microsoft Power Platform.
Responsibilities
- Actively advise and participate in the architecture and hands-on development of applications using Power Platform.
- Lead all aspects of design and development of new applications, ensuring they are flexible and scalable.
- Develop applications from the ground up utilizing:
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- PowerFx
- Power BI
- SharePoint
- SQL databases
- Object-oriented programming
- Design, develop, and configure scalable web applications.
- Create system documentation and enterprise-level Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for enterprise web development.
- Collaborate with the team to translate user stories and requirements into functional code.
- Identify critical dependencies and gaps, solve technical challenges, and implement new enhancements.
- Support the deployment process, including post-deployment review of logs for errors.
- Collaborate with team members to support estimation and requirements finalization efforts.
- Define and develop methods for robust system monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Work with and train staff on how to troubleshoot and build solutions.
- Follow best practices for version control, CI/CD, and development management of the system.
Required Qualifications
Power Platform
- 5+ years of IT systems development experience, with a primary focus on the Microsoft solution stack and Cloud technologies.
- 5+ years of experience and in-depth understanding of the capabilities of Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- 3+ years of experience building solutions for the Power Platform.
- 2+ years of experience developing both Model-driven and Canvas Apps.
- Knowledge of PowerFx with Power Apps.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Strong applied knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform services, including an in-depth understanding of their capabilities, boundaries, and constraints.
Data & Business Intelligence
- 5 years of experience analyzing model and measurement data.
- 5 years of experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Domo, Tableau, Looker, SAP, or Power BI.
- 5 years of experience with conceptual, logical, and physical modeling, especially for rationalizing data objects.
- 5 years of data analysis experience.
- 5 years of experience with data architectures.
- 5 years of experience with databases and data engineering for Big Data.
- Experience with data visualization and Business Intelligence tools within Power BI.
Software Development & Architecture
- 5 years of experience with design patterns, data structures, and functional programming principles.
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
- Basic understanding of authentication, security, and application lifecycle management (ALM) practices for Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions within a secured research environment, including working within mission-driven governance, cybersecurity, data-handling, and organizational constraints.
- Architect-level experience across Microsoft Azure and AWS, including CI/CD, DevSecOps, application and integration architecture.
- Product ownership experience translating business and mission requirements into technical roadmaps and delivered capabilities.
Cloud & Government Environment
- 3+ years of experience with Azure and AWS platforms.
- 2+ years of experience working with Government Cloud operating within FedRAMP guidelines.
- FedRAMP experience is required.
AI / Machine Learning
- 2+ years of experience in AI application development, including generative AI, machine learning, and NLP.
- Hands-on experience architecting and implementing production-oriented generative AI, intelligent automation, and low-code solutions.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise workflows, applications, and business processes.
SharePoint
- 2+ years of experience and knowledge of SharePoint Online features for collaboration and business process automation.
Technical Leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong technical leadership and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
