Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in AWS architecture, FinOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD automation, and cloud cost optimization. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for a seasoned cloud professional who thrives in fast-paced, enterprise environments and enjoys partnering with Engineering, Finance, and Product teams to drive strategic cloud initiatives.
You will play a key role in designing scalable AWS solutions, implementing automated governance frameworks, optimizing cloud spend, and leading complex cloud transformation initiatives across public, private, and hybrid environments.
This position is perfect for a highly technical professional who combines strong architecture skills with cost optimization strategy and automation expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient AWS cloud architectures
Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to AWS (IaaS / PaaS)
Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and SDLC automation processes
Implement and enforce enterprise-wide AWS tagging strategies and governance frameworks
Design automated tag enforcement using AWS Organizations Tag Policies, AWS Config, and Lambda
Build and maintain AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR) pipelines using S3, Glue, and Athena
Drive FinOps initiatives across Inform, Optimize, and Operate stages
Optimize cloud costs using AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances
Develop automation scripts using Python, boto3, Bash, and AWS CLI
Ensure compliance with security and audit standards (AWS Config, GuardDuty, Inspector)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and system issues
Lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Product teams to improve cost allocation and performance visibility
Required Skills/Education:
6+ years of experience in IT solution delivery or Cloud Engineering
Strong expertise in AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, Organizations)
Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
Proven experience in FinOps and AWS cost management
Experience implementing AWS tagging governance and remediation strategies
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, boto3)
Experience with AWS security and compliance tools (AWS Config, Inspector, GuardDuty)
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation frameworks
Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud environments
Strong understanding of cloud architecture design principles
Ability to manage shifting priorities in dynamic enterprise environments
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred:
Experience leading enterprise cloud transformation initiatives
Experience mentoring or training technical teams
Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer (preferred but not required)
