Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Technical Architect

Position Overview

The Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Technical Architect is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing AEM solutions that support enterprise digital experience initiatives. This role provides technical leadership across architecture, integration, and delivery, ensuring AEM implementations align with business objectives, platform best practices, and long-term scalability requirements.

You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, business stakeholders, and solution architects to define architecture standards, oversee technical execution, and resolve complex implementation challenges across Sites, Assets, and related Adobe Experience Cloud integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

• Design scalable and maintainable AEM architecture solutions
• Define component, template, and content structure strategies
• Establish patterns for modular and reusable development
• Guide technical decisions across cloud, integration, and deployment models

Platform Implementation Oversight

• Provide hands-on guidance to development teams during implementation
• Review code, configurations, and technical designs
• Ensure alignment with AEM best practices and standards
• Troubleshoot complex platform and integration challenges

Integration Strategy

• Architect integrations between AEM and enterprise platforms including:
• Adobe Experience Platform
• Analytics and CDP solutions
• Commerce systems
• CRM and marketing platforms
• Define API and data exchange strategies
• Ensure secure and performant interoperability

Performance, Security & Governance

• Establish performance optimization strategies
• Define caching, dispatcher, and CDN configuration standards
• Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements
• Guide identity and access management approaches

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders on solution strategy
• Mentor developers and technical leads
• Participate in architecture reviews and governance boards
• Support estimation, planning, and technical roadmap development

Quality & Delivery Assurance

• Validate technical deliverables and architecture compliance
• Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies
• Oversee documentation of architecture decisions and patterns
• Support successful deployment and operational readiness

Required Skills & Experience

Platform Expertise

• Extensive experience implementing Adobe Experience Manager
• Strong knowledge of AEM Sites and/or Assets
• Experience with AEM architecture patterns and deployment models
• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud integrations

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of Java, OSGi, and Sling frameworks
• Experience designing REST-based integrations
• Knowledge of frontend integration patterns
• Familiarity with cloud environments and infrastructure concepts

Architecture & Leadership

• Proven experience defining technical architecture
• Ability to guide delivery teams and mentor engineers
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• Experience managing technical tradeoffs and risk

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD workflows
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital platforms
• Familiarity with MarTech ecosystems and digital experience strategy
